shameless plug

Leave your name in my blog comments.

Once you do that, this is what I’ll do ... (I will respond to you here on my blog page)

1. I’ll respond with something random about you.
2. I’ll tell you which song or movie you remind me of.
3. I’ll pick a kind of food and/or drink to share with you.
4. I’ll say something that only makes sense to you and me.
(if possible. if not, I’ll say something that only makes sense to me.)
5. I’ll tell you my first memory of you.
6. I’ll tell you what animal you remind me of.
7. I’ll ask you something I’ve always wondered about you.

Remember - I L-U-V you.

Emily:

1. I remember when I once got very angry at you for letting Jonah give you a ride to band practice. I said, "Listen, you are MY friend, no HIS!" and you said, "Um, I just needed a ride."
2. You remind me of the song "Come on-a My House" by Della Reese. It just always makes me think of a happy lady with a secret, dirty side who likes to make cookies.
3. I would totally cook you up my favorite 3 point homemade mac and cheese if you were here.
4. I said who runs this motha??? (I hope you get this one! It's been almost ten years!! Eek!)
5. I remember seeing you at band camp and thinking, "She looks like fun, but I don't know if I can be nice to her because she is a freshman..." Good think I got over my upperclassmanitis.
6. You are a loveable, huggable glow worm.
7. Do you ever feel like skipping out on big moments in life because your mom can't be there for them and it seems pointless to do it without her? Just wondering if anyone else ever felt the same.

Ok, Miss Kimberly I accept your challenge:

1. I always felt like you were Jami's Vanguard version of me. Or I was Jami's Forest version of you. I always thought people like you and I were odd choices for her as friends but somehow it works.
2. You remind me of Jena Malone's character in Saved, minus the teenage pregnancy. You get it.
3. I had a delicious pomegranate martini the other night. I would share it with you. Or come to Jax and I'll buy you one.
4. Vicious Trollop.
5. I don't know if this is my first memory of you, but I remember watching Amelie at your house when you first moved to Gainesville.
6. You remind me of a rabbit. You are a good listener, and rabbits have cute ears.
7. This isn't something I've always wondered, but what are your plans to live brave this summer?

Skip out on the big moments? Heck yes. Chris didn't understand when I said I didn't want a big wedding. What's the point of having a big wedding if your mom isn't there to help you plan it and be excited for it?

Why do you think I got married at a court house? Chris didn't understand that a big wedding held no appeal for me. What's the point if I don't have a mom there to be excited for me and help me plan?

Yay for your comment, I loved reading it!

Um, I currently have a cowardly summer ahead. I mean, I am moving to a town where I don't know a soul, and working at a job where I don't know what to do, and I'm going to live by myself for the first time. But other than that, I'm feeling a bit lame.

I think I might try to take up cooking. I might do the "Julie and Julia" thing: pick up a cookbook, and work my way through it. It doesn't seem brave, but not long ago I could burn water. So my kitchen would find it brave.

What's been going on in your "year of risk"?? And would you like to live a little riskier one weekend in Naples? :)

1. You have an obsession with people's initials. Or at least, with mine. Funny how you are saved in my phone as "T.E.G."
2. Coolio's "Fantastic Voyage" because you always had a thing for cars.
3. Fish tacos and cold beer - comfort food!
4. You are related to my wumpkin.
5. I do believe one of us was wearing an Orlando Magic jersey. I do believe I've never owned an Orlando Magic jersey. Hmm.
6. You remind me of an ant - but only because you are hardworking and loyal to the queen (aka your mom).
7. Why don't you go back to school? You're too smart not to have a degree.

Funny that the Orlando Magic thing stands out in your mind...I remember that jersey...Penny Hardaway...talk about a throw back to the mid 90's...and speaking of mid 90's...I was at a bar in Ocala the other night called Suite 306, and the house DJ had a lil' old school hip hop kick for about 45 minutes...and of course...he played Fantastic Voyage.

Odd.
