i need ...

a challenge for the month of September.

Remember the cash-cook-challenge of Oct 08? Or the no-gratuitous-spending of May 07? I love to make little goals and post about it for my awesum readers.

In fact, that's how my whole blog began. It was my goal to get out of debt in one year. Well, that didn't happen, but I'm proud to say that in 2.5 years of blogging, I did pay down 80% of my credit card debt.

So, awesum readers (all three of you) ... what would you like to see the WG do in the month of September? Relive an old classic - no eating at restaurants or one month? Perhaps you'd like to see me go without tv? (Ok, that's harsh. Maybe I should have to limit my tv.) What about reading 30 books in 30 days?

Be creative, be awesum, be suggestive. But most of all, be quick, because September is 3 days away.

what about a challenge to learn/try something new each week---like trying a weird food or learning a new game..silly but it could be fun.

What about getting a new cookbook and trying a new recipe every day? There are those great ones that Kim got...ummm...Hungry Girl? I think? Then you can tell me how good the book really is. :)

I realize I'm late on this, but here are my thoughts:

1. Create a new soundtrack for your life by finding one great new song per day. Tell us why you like them.

2. Write a haiku a day about your favorite/least favorite experience. (I'm imagining a very creative "bathroom pass request" haiku.)

3. Read a chapter a day of Proverbs. This is ideal for September, because there are only 30 days so you will NEVER REACH the Proverbs 31 passage that always makes me feel like an inadequate woman. Tell us what you like or hate about each day's passage.

4. Research a President each day and make a list of the five/ten/three/x things you like best about him. This requires only five minutes and wikipedia, but will make you hugely entertaining at nerdy parties. Also works for First Ladies if you're feeling feminine.

5. Master a complicated video game. Let us know as you beat new levels. This is particularly entertaining if you get into a RPG and go off on "leveling up" and fighting shitty orcs and stuff.

Feel free to require me to do one of the above. I do well with outside challenges, and am rarely self-motivated.
